Building a Community Through Tarot Classes

Updated: Mar 22

From One Table to One Hundred Students

(Plus a Giveaway!)

There’s a moment, when you’re building something slowly, where you realize it’s no longer just yours.

It belongs to the people who showed up.

This month, I taught my tenth Tarot 101 class. Each one has sold out, which is still something hard to believe, and I don’t take it lightly. And somewhere between laying out cards and watching new readers find their footing, I realized I just surpassed 100 students.

Over one hundred people who made time to sit down and learn this practice. Not in theory. Not in passing. But with intention. (And with me!)

The Transformative Tarot instructor prepares for the first of what will eventually be many tarot classes.
Super nervous at my first tarot class last Fall at Blue Apple Books.

"Me? Teach Tarot Classes?"

When I first started teaching tarot, I thought the work would be about the cards. I thought I would help others learn their meanings, build spreads, and understand tarot's structure. And those things do matter - they create a strong foundation for potential readers.

But what keeps people coming back, what transforms the experience from information into true practice, is something much quieter. It’s the moment someone stops asking, “Am I doing this right?” and starts asking, “What story do I see?” Seeing that shift happen in real time is so much fun.

Because tarot, at its best, is not performative. It’s relational and personal. It asks you to pay attention and notice patterns. It teaches you to trust your own interpretation - even when it’s still forming. That's not an easy thing to do, especially when most of your life you've been taught to ignore your gut intuitions.

Over time, I’ve watched 99 students move from that hesitation into clarity. Not because they memorized more, but because they permitted themselves to engage in a more meaningful way. They permitted themselves to trust themselves

That’s the real work, and the student does that, not the teacher.

Reaching one hundred students doesn’t feel like a finish line. Instead, it feels like a threshold. A reminder that something very special has taken root.

A Giveaway to Celebrate!

So to mark the moment, I’m offering a small gesture of appreciation.

I’m giving away one seat to my upcoming Crafting with Tarot: Beltane Summer Wreaths workshop. This class is a little different by bringing tarot off the table and into your hands. It brings in your senses with texture, color, smells, and seasonal rhythm.

It's all about making something tangible from an intuitive process... sort of like making the leap from toying with the idea of hosting a tarot class to seeing a whole tarot community spring up out of nowhere.

How to Enter: Eligibility is simple. If you’ve taken a class before, or you’re already registered for one, you’re part of this community, and this is for you as a thank you. Just leave me a comment below and that will count as your entry - and make sure you can attend Friday, May 1st from 6-8 PM if you win!

I’ll be announcing the winner on April 15.

Want to make this gorgeous wreath on May 1st? Be sure to enter the giveaway, and click here for class details.

Thank You.

Wherever you are in your practice, whether you’re just beginning or continuing to deepen it, thank you for being here.

You've challenged me to face my fears and delighted me with your enthusiasm. You've become a community that I look forward to hearing from daily - shoutout to GroupMe - and I love seeing your tarot spreads and watching you progress.

You have brought me an incredible amount of joy, and I am so very grateful.
